Is gymnastics safe?
The answer is yes to this question as long as gymnastics is being practiced in safe environment. At Fire House Gym we do our best to ensure the safety of our athletes and to eliminate the possibility of injury. Our entire gym is covered in mats. We have lots of mats because we assume that our students will fall down. In fact we want them to fall down. That is the only way we will have the opportunity to teach them to fall safely and to get back up and try again.
The mats would mean nothing if we did not have a highly trained staff to teach the children to fall. All of our coaches are CPR and First Aid certified. They have gone through many hours of training, shadowing and credentialing to be given their own classes at Fire. It is not easy to get a coaching position at Fire House Gym! Our coaching staff is happy all of the time and loves kids. They must have years of experience in gymnastics training and experience working with kids. Our coaches are safety certified and have to continue in house training monthly at the gym! This is our way of ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the kids!
