School Age Gymnastics
As a member of Fire Gymnastics, your child will be introduced to all four women’s events: learning and developing gymnastics skills using the uneven bars, vault, beam, floor, foam pit, trampoline and tumble track, in addition to the conditioning and flexibility that an aspiring gymnast would need.
Silver - Advanced gymnastics: In this class the students focus on back extension rolls, front limbers, back and front walkovers, round-off back handsprings, glide swings, single and double leg bar circling, squat-ons, tap swings, under swings, sole circle dismounts, cartwheels on medium beam, kick handstands on medium beam, split leaps and jumps on medium beam, jumps to handstand off of springboard on tostacked mats, handstand straight body falls to back on mats, and front handsprings into pits.
Boys gymnastics: Skills that are taught in this class include basic forward and backward rolls, bridge skills, handstands, cartwheels, pullovers and casts on bars, swings below parallel bars, supports and travels on parallel bars, and vault board technique.
Black - Intermediate gymnastics: In this class the students focus on straight arm backward rolls, dive rolls, backbends, bridge kickovers, lunge cartwheels on both sides finishing in a lunge, 1 arm cartwheels, lunge handstands, handstand forward rolls, chin up pullovers, back hip circles, small tap swings, beam leaps, cartwheels on low beam, 3/4 handstands on beam and beginning vault.
Red - Beginner gymnastics: This is a beginner class for those studens with little or no previous gymnastics experience. In this class the students will use all of the Olympic events (vault, bars, beam, floor) plus trampoline. Skills that are taught include basic forward and backward rolls, bridge skills, handstands, cartwheels, pullovers and casts on bars, and balance beam skills (walking, hopping, jumping) as well as vault board technique.
